White willow bark extract is derived from willow bark trees. White willow bark contains salicin, a precursor to salicylic acid, and has mild exfoliating properties as well as anti-inflammatory benefits. White willow bark is also rich in flavonoids, and polyphenols which provide antioxidant effects and tannins (natural astringents) that help reduce oiliness and acne.
