Cannabidiol (or CBD) is a non-psychoactive component of marijuana, extracted from the stems and stalks of hemp plants.
Antioxidant-rich CBD encourages skin cells to react more calmly, soothing the skin, reducing redness and inflammation and counteracting the effects of free radicals to prevent signs of aging. It has been suggested CBD is beneficial for acne, reducing redness associated with breakouts and potentially decreasing sebum production, but more studies are needed in this area.
