Joonbyrd draws on our founder’s childhood memories of opening the gold-lidded pots of her grandmother’s lotions and potions, inhaling their sweet scents.
Our brand name is crafted from our founder’s Persian roots, ‘Joon’ means soul, spirit and life in Farsi, her grandmother’s native language.
Joonbyrd was born from the union of JOYful nostalgia and decades of dermatologic expertise, combining science and sentiment.
Scents that stir the senses, take you some place, some time, somewhere good.

"I created Joonbyrd as a way to unite what I love most about being a dermatologist, helping patients feel confident in their own skin, and my grandmother's legacy of finding JOY and meaning in self-care."
A lifelong beauty consumer, a trusted wellness advocate and one of the world’s leading dermatologists, Dr Alexis has nearly twenty years of clinical experience across two continents.
Originally from New York City, Dr Alexis relocated with her family to the UK in 2012, becoming the first dual US/UK certified dermatologist.
Her comprehensive and compassionate approach to skin health quickly established Dr Alexis as one of the most in-demand practitioners in London, with a list now closed to new patients.
Dr Alexis has served as a brand ambassador across a broad portfolio of L'Oréal brands over the past decade.
She is a member of the British Association of Dermatologists (BAD), the British Cosmetic Dermatology Group (BCDG) and the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD). She also serves on the Advisory Board of the British Beauty Council.
